How do I get to Tamarindo driving from the San José International airport? - Going north from San José, take highway 1 up to Liberia ( about 3 to 3.5 hours). When you will arrive at a stoplight in Liberia turn left, and continue straight on this road for approx. 30 min. Turn right at the junction of Belén. This road will take you through a number of little towns.
You will reach a town called Huacas, turn left, pass through Santa Rosa and you will arrive at a town called Villareal. Now turn right onto a dirt road and continue straight for about 3 miles. You will enter Tamarindo. Coming into town you will reach a big sign for the Best Western hotel keep going until the next corner at the El Milagro hotel and turn left, travel 100m and then turn right for about 300m straight up, where you will reach our reception.
